Originally from New York, Dr. Buckman graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before earning his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. In 1982, he graduated from the University of Connecticut Family Practice Residency, worked in the Manchester Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, then opened the practice in 1983. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He has co-authored a chapter in the textbook of Family Medicine, given presentations at Academy meetings, and had papers published. Dr. Buckman is on the faculty of the University of Connecticut Medical School and the New England College of Medicine and has taught residents and students. He is a Regional Medical Director at Saint Francis Healthcare Partners. He also serves as the School Health Advisor for Bolton, Ellington, and Manchester, Chief Medical Officer for the Governor’s Foot Guard, Medical Director of the Medical Reserve Corps, and as a volunteer in the South Park Shelter. Dr. Buckman has a strong interest in newborn and infant care, asthma care, and sports medicine.
Originally from New Hampshire, Kimberly Beaulieu received her BA and EMT certification from the University of New Hampshire in 1989. She then studied in the Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program where she was exposed to many sub-specialties, including an extended rotation in an under-served area of Appalachia. She obtained her Physician Associate certificate in 1992 at Yale School of Medicine and permanently settled in Connecticut. Following graduation from Yale, she started her career in orthopedic surgery at New Britain General Hospital providing surgical assistance, pre-, and postoperative care. In 1995 she moved into Family Practice, where she has continued providing a broad spectrum of care to a wide variety of patients from infancy to the elderly. Kimberly also has vast experience in providing preventative and acute care, as well as minor surgical procedures. She also provides routine gynecologic and contraceptive care, as well as counseling on lifestyle and multiple illnesses. Kimberly has been a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants since 1990.
